PRETTY LITTLE PRESENTS

Lark Books seeks designers to make unique projects to feature in an upcoming sewing book, Pretty Little Presents, scheduled for release in fall 2009. This book, part of a series of sewing publications, will feature stitched, fabric gifts items no larger than 12” x 12” designed for any age or gender and in the following categories: Bridal, Housewarming, Baby, Hostess and Birthday. We’re looking for projects geared to beginner and intermediate sewers that can be made with a sewing machine and readily available fabrics. Beyond that, let your imagination go wild! We’d like to see proposals for gift items that are original, pretty, charming, adorable, whimsical, humorous, funky, edgy, or precious. We love embellishments!

THE ENVELOPE, PLEASE

Lark Books seeks designers to make unique projects to feature in an upcoming how-to publication, The Envelope, Please, scheduled for release in fall 2009. Envelopes carry our most important and our most dear messages and deserve to be showcased! This book will feature a creative collection of knock-your-socks-off work. We’re looking for all types of one-of-a-kind creative envelopes in a wide range of shapes and sizes. We encourage embellishments, nontraditional materials, and upcycling. Feel free to send accompanying cards but they are not required. We’d like some envelopes designed for items other than note cards, like gift cards or CDs. Have fun and invent the best dang envelope your mailbox (or ours!) has ever seen.

BEADING WITH METAL BEADS

Lark Books seeks designers to make unique projects to feature in an upcoming book, Beading with Metal Beads, scheduled for release in spring 2008. Beading with Cabachons, Beading with Charms, Beading with Crystals, Beading with Filigree, Beading with Gemstones, Beading with Pearls—following these successful Lark titles, now there’s Beading with Metal Beads!
Including rings, bracelets, earrings, necklaces, brooches, and more, this 128-page book will be aimed at a broad audience of beginning and intermediate jewelers, beaders, and general crafters. We want to include a variety of metal types, such as copper, brass, and pewter, in addition to silver and gold. The jewelry should showcase metals, from tiny seed beads to large focal beads.

500 PLASTIC JEWELRY

Entry Deadline: July 1, 2008
Lark Books seeks images to publish in a juried collection of international studio jewelry. Each piece must prominently feature plastic. We wish to showcase a wide range of techniques—from low tech, inventive repurposing to computer assisted rapid prototyping—and diverse materials, including acrylic, latex, epoxy resin, rubber, nylon, thermoplastics, and photopolymers. All jewelry forms, such as rings, earrings, bracelets, brooches, necklaces, and pendants, will be considered, and all designs styles, from camp to couture, are welcome.

FANTASTIC PLASTIC

Lark Books seeks images of original work to feature in the gallery of Fantastic Plastic by David and Robin Edgar. To be released in Fall 2009, Fantastic Plastic will capture the artistry of recycled plastic. From fun and funky to elegant and thought provoking, all sculptural forms will be considered and all types of plastic innovation will be welcomed.
